
A voltage controlled tilt EQ with optional overdrive and stereo inversion.
With no modulation applied the TILT EQ knob controls the balance between low and high frequences. At 12 o’clock the balance is even, at settings less than 12 o’clock bass is boosted and treble is cut, at settings greater than 12 o’clock bass is cut and treble is boosted. The pivot frequency is 1 kHz.
The tilt can be modulated via the CV IN socket. The small knob is an attenuverter controlling the amount and polarity of the modulation. Using a sine or triangle wave LFO with a frequency between about 4 Hz and 8 Hz with the attenuverter set around 30% produces a pleasing tremolo effect but with spectral rather than just volume variation.
If the OVERDRIVE button is engaged then distortion is added before the tilt EQ is applied. The louder the input the more aggressive the distortion becomes.
To use as a mono effect use just the L(M) IN socket for input and the L(M) OUT socket for output.
If the STEREO INV button is engaged then the tilt EQ applied to the right output is inverted. So if the left output has bass boosted and treble cut then the right output will have bass cut and treble boosted and vice versa. With no tilt modulation this can be used to add a little stereo width to a mono input. With tilt modulation the result is an interesting stereo spectral panning effect.
A BYPASS button is provided for A/B testing.
